The multi media artist Bernardí Roig is known for his installations of polyester resin figures interacting with neon light, drawings, photographs or videos. He not only portrays the human body but also critically reflects on the flood of images and information of mass media. Some works also explore the topics of mortality and death by using materials such as fire, coal and ice. All of his works place special emphasis on the discrepancy between the image and nature of the depicted figure. Since 2009 the Galerie Klüser has been representing the Mallorcan-born artist (*1965). Currently Bernardí Roig lives and works in Madrid and Binissalem, Spain. His work was honoured with several awards, for instance the Official Award of the XXI Alxandria Biennale 2003. The artist was also represented at the Biennale die Venezia in 2011. Especially his exhibition “Blow Up” in the Parc Tournay-Solvay in 2010 gained great public attention. Furthermore, the IVAM dedicated an extensive exhibition to the artist in the same year.
