VARIOUS OTHERS 2020: Galerie Klüser X Christine König Galerie
After comprehensive exhibitions on the artistic perspectives on flora and fauna, the contemplation of the “worlds of the world” will be concluded this autumn with Il Mondo Umano as a trilogy on occasion of VARIOUS OTHERS 2020.
How do humans, who have divided and categorized the organisms surrounding them, now view themselves and their existence?
In cooperation with Christine König Galerie (Vienna), we are pleased to present the works of a photographer whose portraits of personalities from the world of fashion, culture and VIPs are probably among the most renowned of our time: in unmistakable style and with a critical eye, Juergen Teller stages people and, incidentally, human environments.
With works of painting, drawing, photography and sculpture from positions at Galerie Klüser, an ensemble of works is formed that deal with people and humanity in a variety of ways and thus reflect an idea of the diverse aspects of the subject.
The previous exhibitions Il Mondo Botanico and Il Mondo Animale showed the artistic engagement with flora and fauna in contemporary art. With the human motif, the gaze is now directed towards the living being that is most familiar to us.
With works by Stephan Balkenhol, Georg Baselitz, Joseph Beuys, Christian Boltanski, James Brown, Tony Cragg, Enzo Cucchi, Gregor Hildebrandt, Alex Katz, Olaf Metzel, Cindy Sherman, Juergen Teller and Andy Warhol, among others.
