Ryuji Miyamoto (*1947 in Japan) is a renowned Japanese photographer and artist, best known for his documentary photography of urban spaces and social changes. His work often focuses on the impact of disasters, particularly the destruction and reconstruction following earthquakes and other natural events in Japan. Miyamoto combines photographic documentation with artistic interpretation, engaging deeply with themes such as memory, loss, and urban transformation.

His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of major collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
