Michael J. Byron (* 1954) is an American artist whose work combines painting, collage, sculpture, and installation. He studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and has taught at Washington University in St. Louis.
Byron’s work explores the interaction between two- and three-dimensional forms, often incorporating objects like staircases into his paintings. Since the 1980s, he has exhibited internationally, including participation in the Whitney Biennial (1989). His works are held in major collections such as the Whitney Museum, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), and Museum Boymans-van Beuningen.
